Why fit a stone guard?

Your tow vehicle's rear wheels throw gravel at whatever is behind them. On gravel and outback roads that means chipped paint, cracked gel coat and smashed fittings. A D-Flector sits on the drawbar and takes the hit instead.

  • Protects gas bottles, water inlets, electrical plugs and the front wall of your van
  • Rip-stop mesh lets air through, so the guard stays aerodynamic
  • Heavy-duty mudflaps knock stones back down to the road
  • Built-in reflectors keep you visible from behind

Why choose D-Flector

Heavy-duty protection

Heavy-duty rip-stop mesh on a powder-coated steel, aluminium or 316 stainless frame, with 8 mm mudflaps.

Drill-free install

Galvanised U-bolts and adjustable brackets clamp straight onto your drawbar. No drilling, no special tools.

Replace parts, not the guard

Mesh covers, mudflaps, U-bolts and reflectors are each sold separately, so a worn part is a cheap fix.

Aerodynamic design

The angled mesh lets air flow through instead of acting like a sail behind your tow vehicle.

Made in Australia

Designed and made here for corrugations, gravel and coastal salt. The boat guard design is patented.

Centre-cut options

Centre-cut caravan and camper models fit around a centre jockey wheel or toolbox without modification.

Easy installation

  1. Clamp the brackets

Position the frame on the drawbar behind the coupling and clamp it with the supplied galvanised U-bolts.

  2. Slide on the mesh

The rip-stop mesh cover slides over the frame and secures with hook-and-loop. Boat guards use zippered panels.

  3. Fit mudflaps & reflectors

Bolt on the heavy-duty mudflaps and ADR-compliant reflectors, check clearance on full lock, and you're ready to tow.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to drill my drawbar?

No. Every D-Flector stone guard clamps on with the supplied galvanised U-bolts and brackets, so there's no drilling and no special tools. Most people fit one in about 30 minutes.

What's the difference between standard and centre-cut?

Centre-cut guards have an opening in the middle so they fit around a centre-mounted jockey wheel, toolbox or other drawbar accessory. If your drawbar is clear in the middle, the standard guard is the one you need.

Should I choose steel or aluminium?

Both use the same mesh and mudflaps. High-strength steel is the tougher, lower-cost frame. Aluminium is lighter, which helps if you're watching your ball weight.

Which boat stone guard do I need?

Choose by boat length: 4.2–5 m, 5–6 m, 6–7 m or 7–8.5 m. The boat guards use a marine-grade 316 stainless steel frame with zippered mesh panels, so you can still get into your boat.

Can I replace just the mesh or mudflaps?

Yes. Mesh cover kits (with reflectors), heavy-duty mudflaps, U-bolts, brackets and bungees are all sold separately, so you can replace a worn part instead of the whole guard.

Is there a warranty?

D-Flector boat and jet ski stone guards come with a 3-year manufacturer's warranty on structural parts. Call us on (03) 9631 7737 for warranty details on other models.
